This position will have responsibility in multiple age-levels, including long-term maternity leave coverage with a three/four year-old class.

DESCRIPTION, RESPONSIBILITIES, & DUTIES

  • Supportive Learning Environment: Observe and engage with students, facilitating hands-on learning experiences that foster social-emotional growth, language and cognitive development, sensory-motor skills, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Safety and Care: Ensure the safety and well-being of each child in all school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and shared spaces.

  • Collaboration and Preparation: Work closely with teachers to implement engaging daily lesson plans, leverage our abundant teaching materials, and adapt strategies to support each child’s unique strengths.

  • Interactive Learning: Lead daily small-group activities and share responsibility for large-group sessions, implementing developmentally appropriate interaction techniques.

  • Assessment and Progress: Collect observations and insights for ongoing assessments, document student progress, and assist in parent-teacher conferences.

  • Guidance and Support: Model and teach compassionate problem-solving strategies to help children navigate social challenges and build confidence in their interactions.

  • Professional Growth: Engage in professional development, actively seek feedback, and contribute to a collaborative faculty culture.

  • Inclusive and Positive Classroom: Embrace each child's individuality and foster an inclusive, positive learning space that celebrates diversity.

  • Communication: Use technology to communicate effectively with families and colleagues, provide regular updates, and prepare narrative reports to showcase each student’s growth and achievements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: BA/BS degree in Education or a related field – REQUIRED

  • Experience: 3+ years of preschool teaching experience – REQUIRED

  • Preferred Skills: Experience with project-based learning models; familiarity with supporting students with special needs is a plus.

SALARY & BENEFITS

This is a part-time role with an in-person schedule of 25 hours per week (8:30 am-1:30 pm Monday-Thursday; 8:30 am-12:30 pm Friday, with 6 additional staff meetings until 2:30 pm). Teachers are placed on our salary scale and paid based on their degree and years of experience. Pay ranges from $125.00 - $180.00 per day. Annualized salary ($22,000-$34,000) will be prorated based on start date. Summer camp positions are available during June, July, & August with additional salary. The opportunity for growth and a permanent role for the 2025-2026 is possible for the right candidates.
